Coinciding with the celebration of the San Juan Festivities in Aguilar de Campoo (Palencia), the open day will be held on Friday, June 25, during the usual hours of the centre, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 pm.
It will consist of guided and free tours that will be held every half hour in which the technological innovations introduced by the Rom will be presented to improve the visitor experience and attract new audiences, with special emphasis on people with disabilities and children.
These novelties consist of an user friendly App, a ‘Kids corner’ to “learn by playing” thanks to Augmented Reality and a visitor information space, which includes a welcome video.
All of them have been implemented within the framework of the European MUS.NET project, in which the Rom participates, and whose objective is the development and segmentation of audiences to improve the visibility of small museums and attract a greater number of visitors.
This is not a traditional guided tour of the monastery. Each shift will last about 20 minutes in which the objectives of MUS.NET will be briefly explained and, above all, the three new functionalities that have been implemented thanks to this initiative: app, visitor information space and ‘Kids corner ‘.
Once this presentation is made, the objective is that visitors can visit and get to know the centre through the use of new tools.
At the end of the visit, all the people who participate will receive a souvenir gift.
